choreographer and reality television host. Miller is the founder of the Abby
Lee Dance Company, which appeared on the reality TV show Dance Moms for eight
seasons. Miller was found guilty on June 27, 2016 , to criminal bankruptcy

in federal prison. Miller was released on March 27 of 2018. In April of 2018,
she developed lymphoma, a form of cancer that made her unable to walk. She now
uses a wheelchair to get around. Miller was raised in Penn Hills, Pennsylvania.
She was a dancer who trained under her mother at the Maryen Lorrain Dance
Studio. Miller at the age of 14 was assigned the choreography and instruction
of one of her mother's dance competition teams. Miller was eventually able to
take over the studio in the year 1995 and named the company Reign Dance
Productions. Miller was certified by Dance Masters of America, and was also a
member of Dance Masters of Pennsylvania Chapter 10 (February 1986). However,
DMA terminated her membership in February 2012 because Miller's reality
television show Dance Moms was a "complete mistaken portrayal of our
teachers and their students" and was detrimental to the profession.
